Bodybuilding Is Life.

I was staring blankly at my pre workout tub last night with no where to go and for some reason started thinking about the first time that I ever saw Pumping Iron. That movie had such an impact on me, so much so in fact, that after watching, I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

The feeling didn't have anything to do with Arnold in particular, it was the entire lifestyle the movie showed, of training, eating, hanging with friends and traveling that just looked so amazing and rewarding.

So off I went and worked my ass off to make my dream of living that lifestyle a reality, but for now at least, that life has gone.

Just like you guys, for me, bodybuilding or weight training IS a lifestyle. It's not a hobby, it's not something we do on Sunday mornings to escape the kids, it's who we are, it's our identity, we live and FKN breathe lifting.

Gym is where we go at whatever time it is that we go. We base our meals, our schedules, our clothes, even our social lives around that precious 90 minutes or so a day, to make sure we get the most from our workouts.

"...Right now though, I feel guilty as fuck

Right now though, I feel guilty as fuck that I've taken too many sessions for granted and not given my 110%. I've told myself, 'I'll train harder tomorrow' or some bullshit and not all but killed myself on the gym floor for the gains.

This strange time that we're going through right now will pass, I don't know when, but I know that I'm going to use this time to lift whatever I can, try and keep some kind of training schedule and visualize how fucking awesome it will be when things get back to normal.

Through crisis comes opportunity and this is our opportunity to realize that we should never take this life that we love for granted. To never not give our all, never skip leg day, to eat that fucking dry ass chicken breast no matter how tired of it we are.

We'll get through this, but until things get back to normal, do your pushups, do your crunches, curl a chair, press a pet it doesn't matter, because life's better with a pump.
